Through gentle storytelling, our characters explore the big questions little hearts sometimes carry—reminding children that they are seen, heard, valued, loved, and never alone.
Because at Forest Friends, we believe every child deserves to know just how special they are.
Meet Jackie
Jackie lives in High River and enjoys spending time in nature, reading, horseback riding, and making memories with family and friends.
Although she doesn't have children of her own, she has always shared a special connection with children.
Through her work with children in a shelter setting, Jackie has witnessed how trauma can affect the connection between children and their mothers.
One moment has stayed with her forever—a little boy quietly hung his head and asked, "Am I a good boy?" No child should ever question their worth.
That moment became one of the inspirations behind Jackie's new series, creating books that help every child feel seen, valued, loved and special.

The first book in the new Forest Friends series, Am I a Good Boy? follows Sloth the Raccoon as he bravely asks a question many children quietly carry in their hearts: "Am I a good boy?"
With the help of a caring friend, Sloth discovers that being a good person isn't about being perfect—it's about kindness, courage, learning from mistakes, and having a loving heart.
This heartfelt story gently reassures children that they are seen, valued, loved, and enough—just as they are.
An activity book will follow where kids can get to know Sloth better, filled with fun facts, mazes, affirmations, and easy logic puzzles.
